Easter West-End Workshop

WOAPA will be holding two workshop sessions in Witney on
Sunday 7th April 2013, (10.00am - 11.30am and 11.30am - 1.00pm)
with Jo Hawes, west end and touring children's casting director.
Since becoming a Childrens Casting Director 17 years ago Jo has worked on over 75 productions mainly musicals in the west end and on tour for all the leading theatrical producers.
Jo is currently casting the children for The Lion King, Oliver!, Les Miserables, Shrek The Musical, The Turn Of The Screw at the Almeida and Goodnight Mr Tom.
She also manages the children in Matilda the Musical, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Before the Party at the Almeida and Fences at the Theatre Royal Bath.

Over the last 17 years I gradually came to the conclusion that many children would benefit from Masterclasses in The Art of Auditioning. I have seen many children unsuccessful in the audition process because they have not shown their considerable talents to a panel of directors who only have a very short time in which to make a decision.
I started these classes in October 2010 and now travel all over the country. The classes are specifically designed to empower children and to help them understand what creative teams are looking for, how to behave and how to use their nerves. They also include a wealth of other practical information. I am not intending to teach children how to sing dance or act they know that already but I do want to help them develop good audition technique. |
Each class is limited to 25 children only.
For children aged 7 - 16.
Classes are 1.5 hours long each session is complete and is not part of a course.
These one off sessions are fun and will help children to view auditions as an enjoyable challenge rather than a scary experience.
Children take away information reminding them of the things they have covered during the class.
Cost - (current WOAPA students) £25. (£15 each additional sibling) and £30 for ALL non-WOAPA students.
