West Oxfordshire Academy of Performing Arts is an independent Theatre School for children aged 4-16 years, which operates at weekends during the standard academic term.

Our classes are led by experienced tutors whose skills in working with young people enable our students to develop at their own pace, and encourage them to reach their true potential.

Providing quality tuition in the three disciplines of Singing, Dance and Drama, our classes ensure that your child receives the individual attention he or she deserves.

We promote a positive environment - where students have fun as they celebrate their individuality and achievements.

Working as part of a team, students are encouraged to be creative and become multi-disciplined, all-round performers.
At WOAPA, we take pride in going that extra mile. We offer fantastic additional opportunities to our students and have assisted our students to appear in local productions, professional stage shows (locally and national tours) in film, television and advertisements.

We regularly invite industry professionals to our school, to provide master-class sessions, giving our students access to work with performers at the top of their game.

Previous students have been successful in gaining places at prestigious drama schools and organisations (Royal Welsh college of Music & Drama, NYMT National Youth Music Theatre, Guildhall school of music, Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, Oxford School of Drama)

We also offer opportunities to qualify for Trinity College 'Arts Awards' in-house - assisted and moderated by our award-winning mentor.

In April 2019, 60 students took LAMDA exams with 100% pass rate.

A large number of our students come to us via recommendation from parents of children already enrolled with us.

Shakespeare's
Rose Theatre

Following its highly acclaimed inaugural season in York in 2018, Shakespeare's Rose Theatre will pop up in the glorious grounds of Blenheim Palace from 8th July until 7th September.
Four of William Shakespeare’s most popular plays – Macbeth, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Richard III and Romeo & Juliet - will transport audiences to the thrilling, intimate atmosphere of an Elizabethan playhouse, with plenty of breath-taking, spine-tingling and heart-stopping moments.

Outside the theatre, visitors can experience a vibrant, free-to-enter Shakespearean village, offering the finest Oxfordshire fare – from local ales to scrumptious ice creams served from oak-framed, reed-thatched buildings, an array of ‘wagon’ entertainment, minstrels and a stunning Elizabethan garden with ornate box-edged beds of cottage flowers, roses and herbs.

The 13-sided scaffolding theatre offers three tiers of covered seating and an open courtyard for standing ‘groundlings’.

Step back in time and experience Shakespeare as it was in his day, with bloody battles, comic mayhem, gruesome murders and grand oratory
