Witney Music Festival 2013

Saturday 27th April will herald the opening of Witney Music Festival 2013 at a brand new outdoor event. The festival has been staged in the town for the past six years and gained growing popularity for it’s diversity of music genres and variety of interesting venues from pubs and clubs to churches, Marriotts Walk and Cogges Farm Museum.

And this, the seventh year, features an exciting new event which will escalate the festival to a whole new level.

Following the success of the Diamond Jubilee Beacon Lighting event in June, when about 2,500 people gathered on The Leys for a musical celebration, Witney Town Council have encouraged plans for the first open-air music festival on the site!

The organisers are working hard to populate the area with activities and interests for all ages and tastes to support two stages, bars and a variety of food outlets already booked.

Apart from the Main Stage and ‘Missing Duck’ acoustic stage, there will be other musical activities such as Witchwood School of Rock’s ‘RockBus’ where youngsters can try their hand at rock guitar, drums and vocals. A Silent Disco and DJ & Scratch features will add to the intriguing nature of the festivities.

Witney’s Seventh Music Festival, “Music for All”, will be staged from 12 midday to 10:00pm on Saturday 27th April and throughout the following week. Programmes will be available nearer the time and the website will keep everyone in touch with all the exciting performances and artists.
