Sohan Kailey is a Performing Artist, Dancer, Professional Entertainer, and Actor.
He has been involved in the performing arts for many years and has worked with many organisations to engage audiences in dance and performance.

Sohan has performed at major family festivals alongside stars of CBeebies, CBBC, Milkshake TV, and High 5 amongst others!

His workshops aim to promote diversity and inclusion and encourage people to live happier, healthier lives through dance.

In 2012, Sohan visited WOAPA and spent a day teaching Bhangra and Bollywood dance to our students who all had a fantastic time. He gave a real insight into ancient folk dance, right up to modern day.

At the end of the session, parents were invited to join in the fun too!

Sohan is returning to WOAPA on Friday 7th/Saturday 8th Feb 2020, providing workshops for our students aged 7 - 16 yrs.

So our younger students don't miss out, Sohan returns the following week to provide his own special 'Bhangra Tots' workshops for our Young Performers classes, on Friday 14th & Saturday 15th Feb.

All this is part of our student's fantastic classes here at WOAPA.

A Bhangra dancer since he was young, Sohan, dressed in his traditional Bhangra gear, tells the students a little about the dance and then gives them every opportunity to experience it for themselves

“It is about giving the children a chance to have a go at it,” he says.
“It is about encouraging their creativity and about them expressing themselves in dance.

It isn’t about being right or being wrong, it is about having a go at it. “Bhangra is vibrant, energetic and fun and the children are trying it and playing at the same time.”

Sohan is currently touring festivals and events in the UK and abroad with his album: "Let's Naach" (Let's Dance)

West Oxfordshire Academy of Performing Arts is an independent Theatre School for children aged 4-16 years, which operates at weekends during the standard academic term.

Our classes are led by experienced tutors whose skills in working with young people enable our students to develop at their own pace, and encourage them to reach their true potential.

Providing quality tuition in the three disciplines of Singing, Dance and Drama, our classes ensure that your child receives the individual attention he or she deserves.

We promote a positive environment - where students have fun as they celebrate their individuality and achievements.

Working as part of a team, students are encouraged to be creative and become multi-disciplined, all-round performers.
At WOAPA, we take pride in going that extra mile. We offer fantastic additional opportunities to our students and have assisted our students to appear in local productions, professional stage shows (locally and national tours) in film, television and advertisements.

We regularly invite industry professionals to our school, to provide master-class sessions, giving our students access to work with performers at the top of their game.

Previous students have been successful in gaining places at prestigious drama schools and organisations (Royal Welsh college of Music & Drama, NYMT National Youth Music Theatre, Guildhall school of music, Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, Oxford School of Drama)

We also offer opportunities to qualify for Trinity College 'Arts Awards' in-house - assisted and moderated by our award-winning mentor.

In April 2019, 60 students took LAMDA exams with 100% pass rate.

A large number of our students come to us via recommendation from parents of children already enrolled with us.

Please ask for a taster session and view the quality of tuition first-hand. Our taster sessions are FREE - as they should be.
