Congratulations to George!
Congratulations to George Hiley on receiving his Bronze Arts Award while attending classes at WOAPA - West Oxfordshire Academy of Performing Arts.
George's chosen subject was 'performing arts' and he also visited the musical 'Grease', performed by Oxford Operatic society, to produce a review of the show.
George joins a growing list of WOAPA students who have gained an Arts Award while studying at WOAPA, although he is the first student with learning disabilities to have achieved this level 1 nationally recognised qualification.
To date, WOAPA has a 100% pass rate!
To achieve a Bronze Arts Award, a Level 1 national qualification, young people need to plan their work with an adviser and keep a record by creating their own Arts Award portfolio. Their portfolio might be a folder, sketchbook, video diary or a website its up to them.
Moderated by Trinity College London, young people take part in an arts activity they enjoy, go to an arts event, research their arts inspiration and share their skills with others.
Bronze Arts Award is available to young people aged 11 to 25 at WOAPA in Witney.
Arts Award is also open to non-WOAPA students and can be undertaken in a range of arts activities. Pease contact us for more details.
