We are thrilled that our children’s theatre school will be re-opening for ‘in-person’ classes in September!
This has been a challenging time for us all and we would like to use this space to reassure parents and students alike that we are keeping ourselves fully up to date with government guidance and will continue to make adjustments as necessary throughout the term and communicate them directly to you in order that we fully comply to keep your children and our staff safe.
Following a highly successful summer school, at Henry Box School, where our new safeguarding procedures have already been successfully tried and tested, we are really looking forward to welcoming back our previous students (and some new ones too) all eager to re-engage in socialising and growing in both confidence and self-esteem – actively taking part in our classes led by our inspiring and nurturing ‘Dream Team’ of outstanding tutors and assistants.
Social distancing has become an integral and important part of the ‘new normal’ and so there are some temporary changes we are making that will be used only for as long as it is required, in order to keep us all safe.

In line with current government guidance, each of our classes or ‘bubbles’ will be for a maximum of 15 students and up to two members of staff.
Drop off times and designated meeting places.
As a WOAPA parent/carer, you are entitled to use the school’s car park. Please ensure that if you are using it, your child is taken back outside the school gates for registration at their bubble’s designated meeting place.
WOAPA staff will be on hand to welcome your child at their designated bubble’s meeting places. Please check your emails for your individual instructions.
Each bubble will be chaperoned to their designated WOAPA room. Young Performers will remain in the same room for their hour of tuition with their WOAPA tutor and assistant. The Main School bubbles will be taught the three disciplines of singing, drama and dance. Each bubble will remain in its designated room and the three tutors will switch between the three bubbles throughout the school session, always maintaining a social distance of at least 2m. We request that that only one parent/carer from each family at a time should be responsible for bringing and collecting WOAPA students. Please be punctual, arriving no earlier than 10 minutes before your session is due to start.
Please ensure that you form a queue in a socially distanced and organised way at your child’s bubble’s designated meeting place.
As per COVID-19 government guidelines, no parent or carer is allowed in the building and ideally not on site. It is therefore important that your child is able to say goodbye at the gate and come into class independently – please see FAQs section, below, for more guidance on this.
As per government guidance, WOAPA is required to suggest that parents do not share lifts between households and where possible, advises families not to take public transport if they are able to walk to the venue.
Members of WOAPA’s staff will chaperone your child back to their designated meeting place at the end of their session.
Please make sure you are on time to collect your child as WOAPA’s responsibility for the student ends when the session ends.

If you are unsure of the correct size of jazz shoe for your child, we have a stock of jazz shoes that we are able to use to check your child's size.
We will hand deliver all uniform orders directly to you or your child after payment has been made, usually during the time of their next session.
In the unlikely event of a delay in your order, you will be notified.
