The Winter's Tale, spanning a period of sixteen years, tells the story of the Family of Leontes, King of Sicilia, who suspects that his wife, Hermione, has been unfaithful with Polixenes, King of Bohemia. After falling into a jealous rage, causing the death of his wife, and leaving his newborn daughter to die, Leontes swears to repent for his mistakes. What follows is a tale of romance, between Leontes's long lost daughter, Perdita, and Florizel, prince of Bohemia, and the eventual reunion between the estranged father and daughter, and is one of Shakespeare's most enduring masterpieces.
After the success of 2016's productions of The Taming of the Shrew and Romeo & Juliet, Don't Hate The Players Theatre Company once again return to Oxford with this tale of love, jealousy, and redemption, returning for the second winter in a row to the beautiful setting of New Road Baptist Church.
