On the 1st December 2012 the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) and Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA) merged to form the Disclosure and Barring Service, or DBS.
These changes will continue to help safeguard vulnerable groups and children and young people from people who work or volunteer with them who may pose a risk of harm.
There will be new requirements to check employees and volunteers before they commence regulated activity. In most cases this will combine an enhanced CRB check and a check of the barred lists.
All tutors and staff at WOAPA have full enhanced CRB clearance. We are also fully compliant with the new Home Office "DBS" which takes effect from Feb 2013.
